Javier Aracil

 
 

Javier Aracil received MSc and PhD degrees from the Technical University of Madrid in 1993 and 1995, both in telecommunications engineering. In 1995 he was awarded a Fullbright scholarship and was appointed to be a postdoctoral fellow of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1998 he was a research scholar at the Center for Advanced Telecommunications Systems and Services of the University of Texas at Dallas. He has been an associate professor for the University of Cantabria and the Public University of Navarra, and is currently a professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. Aracil's research interests are in optical netowrks and performance evaluation of communication networks. He has authored more than 75 papers in international conferences and journals. In his capacity within the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), Aracil oversees the ICSI Spanish visitor program.
