This year's program will highlight two key directions at ICSI: The expansion of our research in bioinformatics and computational biology, and the nascent commercial exploitation of our open-source routing platform (XORP). There will also be time to talk informally with ICSI scientists in these and other research areas.

2:30 A Hybrid System Model of Human Blood Clotting
Srini Narayanan and Joe Makin will describe their approach to realistic modeling of human biological processes. One important objective of their work on blood clotting is to provide less invasive and more cost effective methodology for developing drug therapies.
3:00 Open Source Comes to Networking: Fusion or Fission?
ICSI is pleased to welcome Allan Leinwand, Founder and Chairman, Vyatta, Inc. and Venture Partner, Panorama Capital. Allan will discuss his pioneering efforts toward delivering open-source networking products and solutions to the enterprise.
