Ryan Farrell

Ryan Farrell received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley in 2001. After three years in industry as a software engineer, he entered the graduate program in computer science at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he completed his master's degree in 2006 and his doctorate in 2011. He joined ICSI as a postdoctoral researcher in May 2011 and is currently working as a research scientist in ICSI's Vision Group.  His interests include various topics in computer vision, machine learning, and big-data research; his current work focuses on the domain of object recognition, specifically on the problem of fine-grained visual categorization.
