Visiting Members use ICSI as a
working base for collaboration with ICSI and UC Berkeley, and for
broader access to Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Visiting Members are typically sponsored by private industry, consortia
or government agencies. Sponsors receive one year of visitor hosting for
each visiting membership they arrange. This time may be used for a
year-long visit by a single person or for shorter visits by several
people, for up to a total of twelve months.
In addition to the benefits enjoyed by Affiliate Members,
Visiting Members are welcome to participate in ICSI's ongoing
professional activities, and they or their sponsors receive
complimentary invitations to Institute symposia and tutorials.
Intellectual property co-invented with ICSI researchers is shared by
ICSI and the visiting member's sponsor through royalty-free licensing
arrangements. Formalized international visitor programs are currently in
place with Finnish, German, Spanish and Swiss sponsors.
