Abstract:

A cell phone is a convenient communication tool in our current life. However, using a cell phone when we drive a car is dangerous. Using a cell phone during driving has already caused many traffic accidents, so many countries have forbidden cell phone use while driving. One way to solve this problem is to use a microphone array. People always hope that a microphone array can provide safe communication and high speech quality. This requires that beamforming algorithms not only enhance the desired speech, but also suppress interference and background noise. In this talk, I will present our work on developing new beamforming algorithms, and show their recognition and communication performance using realistic car noise data.

This talk will be held in the Main Lecture Hall at ICSI.
