PointCast Incorporated is the inventor and leader in broadcast news via the Internet and corporate intranets. PointCast, Inc. was founded in 1992 to provide current news and information services to viewers and corporations via the Internet and corporate intranets. Since PointCast launched the PointCast Network in February 1996, the Company has won more than fifty industry awards and honors.

The PointCast Business Network, introduced last year, was the first news and information service to broadcast up-to-the-minute news directly to viewer's computer screen. The company also pioneered the concept of broadcasting personalized news, stock quotes and other information tailored to the interests of each individual viewer.

The talk will discuss

- PointCast's mission and position in the marketplace;

- Client-side technology and development process;

- Technical issues of the PointCast client, concentrating on using Microsoft Internet Explorer as the development platform for the future PointCast products;

- Server-side technology. PointCast is one of the highest bandwidth sites on the internet. The talk will describe the technology that keeps it running and makes it more efficient

concluding with:

- Information about career opportunities;

- Open discussion, questons and answers.
