2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Packet switching has been widely recognized as the most suitable for traffic integration and variable bandwidth services. In the talk we will show that the packet approach of CDPA is more efficient than FDMA/TDMA techniques in exploiting the radio spectrum as errors due to co-channel interference are more effectively fought by a MAC retransmission mechanism rather than by forward error correction. In spite of the unbounded delay due to packet retransmission it will be shown that CDPA is also suitable for real time applications.

This talk will be held in the Main Lecture Hall at ICSI,
1947 Center Street, Sixth Floor, Berkeley, CA 94704-1198
(on Center between Milvia and Martin Luther King Jr. Way).
