The Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program offers a limited number (30-26) of $2,000 summer stipends to students who have signed on with our program for one or more semesters as research apprentices for the nominating faculty. Stipends for this summer have already been awarded. Most were awarded to students who started work with URAP faculty last fall. In this program the focus is on faculty research and student training.

In the Haas Scholars Program, the emphasis is on the student's independent research. There is approximately $10,000 per student, awarded as scholarship and research expenses, to allow students to undertake a capstone project for their senior year. Students must be financial aid eligible and submit a well developed research proposal. There are 20 scholarships; awards were made in March this year.

More information about each program can be had at the Office of Undergraduate Research web site http://ls.berkeley.edu/ugis/our/ Applications to the Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program are mailed to all Academic Senate faculty each March and November.
