Ground Rules: Your homeworks should be in 12 point type, either 1 & 1/2 spaced or double spaced, with at least 1
inch margins. No late homeworks.

Important: You may decide who will read and grade your progress report and final paper. Put the name of your requested reader near the top of your progress report. Your only choices are Ben Bergen or George Lakoff. You may change you mind later, and there is no guarantee that the requests will be distributed in such a way as to allow you to have your first choice of reader.

Part 1: Status Report (up to 1 page)

Let us know in prose how your research is coming:

What parts of your data have you accessed? Have you had problems doing so? If so, what are they? How are you dealing with them?
How is your analysis coming? Are there theoretical prerequisites that you are finding you do not have? How are you rectifying this?
Is the flow of your argument becoming clear? (It should be - see part 2.) If not, what is hindering this process?
Is your topic still interesting? Are you finding you are subtly modifying what you expected to work on? If so, how?

Part 2: Detailed Outline (~ 1 page)

Please provide us with the general flow of your paper. This should include an outline of what the sections are, what they contain, and how they are related. Your thesis should appear in the introduction.
