Monday August 15th:
Final grades are in!
The mean for the final was a little less than 75% (58.2/80), and people got pretty much between 50% and 100%, so the spread was reasonable too. A number of you did really well on the final, and we were impressed with a number of your answers.

When we added everyone's grades up it turned out that we didn't need to curve for the most part -- we left it at 90% for an A, 80% for a B, 70% for a C, etc. We did round up a little so that if you were right on a border you were pushed up a step rather than down.

Here's the final grade breakdown:

So overall, you guys did really well.

About your finals -- you can see them at Carol Snow's office (349 Campbell hall), and you're allowed to make copies. But Cog Sci holds onto the actual finals for a year.

Friday August 12th:

Whoever left behind a binder at the final should email me. It's a dark-green-covered 8.5*11 binder, with notes fo this class and at least one other, and I failed to find a name in it. -- Shweta

Finals will be graded by Tuesday, and final grades will be posted by Wednesday or Thursday.

Tuesday August 9th:
I (shweta) am sick a-gain. Bad time for it, I know, but what can you do? Probably no office hours tomorrow, though I'll post something to the website if I'm feeling up to holding them; but if I'm not doing standard OH, I will be online during office hour times, and ready to answer any emails you send.
Bring lots of questions to lecture. Bring answers too. We may or may not have slides, depending on how I'm doing, and if I can't talk then I'm going to be getting you guys to answer one anothers' questions where possible.

Sunday August 7th:
Zhenya's Office Hours tomorrow will be from 2:30 to 4.

Thursday July 21st:
NOTE: Lecture slides for lecture 5.2 are corrupted. I can't figure out what's wrong from here, so I'll fix it tomorrow (Friday). Because of this, you all have an extension on hw 5 -- it's now due Monday July 25th. -Shweta
Here are links to two of the studies we discussed yesterday:
Milgram experiment
Stanford Prison Experiment.

Tuesday July 19th:
If you didn't make it to section, come to office hours! Or you'll have real trouble with assignment 4.

Thursday July 14:
Shweta's sick, folks. So! Friday's lecture will be a videotape and worksheets, and Monday's guest lecture is postponed to the first week of August. The information you will need to do assignment 5 is in the reading, and most of it will be covered on Monday.
Midterms should be ready to hand back on monday, but it might take till wednesday.

Friday July 8:
About the gesture clip -- some of you are having problems because it's a .qtif file. Try going to gesture.mov in this directory instead and downloading that. It's the same file but should work better. If you're confused about the correct url, email us.

Wednesday July 6:
We're giving you extra time on Homework 3. It is now due on Monday July 11.

The gesture clip is up online. I'm not posting a link here because I'm not allowed to, but the url's listed in your lecture notes. Do email me if the link doesn't work, or anything. --Shweta

Monday July 4:
The logic tutorial can be found here.

Friday June 24:
I've spoken to people in Copy Central. They've agreed to rebind the readers for free, but said people have to pay $3.75 to get them bound into two readers. I don't think this is cool, but don't really see what to do about it just now. Email me if you have ideas. -- Shweta

Thursday June 23:
Notes went up a bit late, I'm afraid. I'll try to get them up straight after lecture, but expect them within 24 hours rather than immediately. -- Shweta
