General Professional Information
I am a Computer Scientist interested broadly in the areas of Human Language Technology,  Human Machine Interaction and Artificial Intelligence. I have been actively working in this area since 1985.

M.Sc. degree (Laurea in Scienze dell'Informazione, summa cum laude) from the Computer Science Departement of the University of Pisa in 1997.

Ph.D.  degree (Docteur és Science) in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) in 2002.

Visiting Scholar at the International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley in 2004-2005.

Visiting Scholar at the Department of Linguistics, University of California, Berkeley, 2004-2005.

Visiting Scholar at the Center for the Study of Language and Information (CSLI), University of Stanford, 2005.

Lecturer and Senior Researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL)and member of the MEDIA group  and of the Center of Global Computing in the School of Information and Communication Sciences (I&C) at EPFL, 1998-2005.

Senior Researcher in the MDM group of the Swiss National Center of Competence IM2,  2002-2005.
