occupies a newly redesigned 28,000 square foot research facility
located at 1947 Center Street,
Suite 600, Berkeley CA, 94704-1198. As
can be seen from the following map, ICSI is just two
blocks from the central
U.C. Campus
in downtown Berkeley. It is about
a 15 minute walk from
Cory
or
Soda
Hall to ICSI.

Building History
1947 Center Street, a six story office
building in the Art Deco style, was designed in 1947 by Berkeley
architect, James W. Placheck, for the State Farm Insurance
Company. The building forms a handsome companion to Placheck's Farm
Credit Building, the present City Hall, and the Civic Center Park,
giving the historic Berkeley Civic Center a unified architectural
style.
