Visitor Programs

International cooperation is a key component in ICSI research. ICSI has had active international visitor programs with several countries since its inauguration in 1988. Its current international sponsors include Brazil, Finland, Germany, and Switzerland:

• Brazilian support is provided through the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development and the Movimento Brasil Competitivo (MBC).
• Finnish support is provided by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes).
• German support of the Institute is provided by The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium fuer Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) through a government-industry consortium (DAAD) and organized by a sponsoring association the Förderverein. The current call for proposals is here.
• Spanish support of the Institute has been provided by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, the Spanish Science and Innovation Ministry.
• Swiss support is organized by the Interactive Multimodal Information Management Research Network (IM2).

In addition to these programs, the Institute often hosts visiting researchers who are affiliated with specific research projects at ICSI.
